Coal Heart Mother is a universal, laic and practical object deriving from the tradition of roadside chapels.
The form is a steel coal- burner serving as an outdoor heater in harsh winter days. The author, Jakub Szczęsny, calls himself a pragmatic agnostic and claims that the installation addresses the rare moments when spriritual needs show up in him. The object is therefore a blend of two functions, by warming up both the soul and the flesh.
